The 2011 McKenna Cabernet Sauvignon was produced in the region of Lodi in the Central Valley of California. The wine is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. This lot was fermented in stainless-steel tanks and aged in a combination of new and used oak barrels. This wine will age well for five to six years and is built for ageing gracefully.
This Cabernet Sauvignon has dark and intense deep red colors, and you can tell a lot by the robe of a wine. The nose follows with a rich combination of black currant and blackberry aromas with hints of spice and smoky flavors from the oak. The second nose reveals some tobacco and chocolate undertones. This younger wine coats your taste buds with rich and silky tannins. The finish is very balanced between power and complexity. Enjoy this wine with a rack of lamb, roast beef, a roasted pork loin and many strong cheeses such as sharp cheddar or gorgonzola. Pair it with our featured recipe: “Tuscan Grilled lamb Chops with Warm White Bean Provencal.”
